INTENDED USE OF FURNITURE GENERAL INFORMATION

Always remove stains quickly before they can do any permanent damage to the furniture. Avoid placing the furniture near a strong heat source or in full sunlight to minimize the risk of damage.

As wood is a natural material, it may change in color and will patinate over time.

Fabrics fade and seams weaken when exposed to sunlight or strong heat. General exposure to dust and dirt wears down the fabric. Regular cleaning is important to keep the upholstery looking at its best and prolong its life.

When you move your furniture, make sure you lift it (on a solid part, if possible the metal frame) rather than pulling or pushing it to avoid damaging the floor, legs and/or parts. Avoid improper use such as sitting on the back or armrests, tilting chairs on their back legs, putting your feet on the furniture or standing on it.

For tabletops, always use coasters under damp, hot or colored objects to avoid permanent stains. Be careful not to scratch or damage the surface with sharp objects.

When cleaning, we generally recommend using a neutral detergent dissolved in water to clean surfaces. Please only use a detergent recommended for the specific material and do not soak porous materials such as wood, weavings or fabric as this may blemish the surface over time. We always recommend testing on an inconspicuous area before applying the detergent to the entire surface.

- INZU is not responsible for any damage caused by care or maintenance activities performed by a third party.

- Information from suppliers of chemicals and cleaning solvents, including but not limited to label instructions, should always be followed.

- Always lift with 4 to 6 people and when possible, lift furniture on their metal construction rather than the wood.

- Avoid moving cushions and pillows to keep them from getting lost or damaged.

- Avoid furniture and materials from touching or rubbing against the wall.

- Never use an excessive amount of water when cleaning the floor or products, this will damage the wood.

FABRICS

Vacuum the furniture occasionally using the upholstery nozzle to remove dust and avoid fluff and pilling. Straighten the fabric with your hands from time to time. Soak up spilled liquids immediately with an absorbent dry cloth by dabbing gently towards the center of the stain. Never use detergents or bleach, ammonia, optical brighteners or soap intended for hard surfaces. We do not recommend spot cleaning of individual marks and stains as this damages the fabric and causes color loss. Avoid rubbing the material hard as this could result in loss of color and damage the fabric. It may also be necessary to use a hairdryer to avoid leaving a water outline. No upholstery furniture should be in direct sunlight.

WEAVING

Products that include weaving and/or are made from woven materials require extra care. Do not use wet or damp cloths for cleaning and maintaining the material. Instead, please use a dry cloth or duster to remove any dirt. Do not use alcohol or any other solvents to clean the product and avoid using abrasive or rough sponges. Minimize prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent fading or drying of the woven material. Avoid letting the woven components rub against any surfaces. Also avoid letting the weavings get wet or damp, as this will change the color or spread the color, and result in damage. Make sure that woven products are kept in well-ventilated areas to avoid any decay or mold from appearing.

VARNISHED WOOD

Products made with Markamia and Eucalyptus are intended exclusively for indoor use and must not be placed outdoors or in areas with direct rain/sun exposure. Wipe with a clean, dry cloth. If the surface is dirty, wipe with a clean damp cloth. Never use an excessive amount of water, this will damage the wood. Never use soft soap or solvents such as spirit, turpentine or acetone. Avoid using scouring cream or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface. If the surface is scratched or appears damaged, use a care product specifically suited to lacquered or stained wood. In case repairs are needed, clean the furniture thoroughly before applying the varnish to all surfaces. To ensure optimal absorbency, gently sand down the wood using fine grit sandpaper (No. 120, 180 and 240), always sanding in the direction of the grain. Apply the water-based semi-matte lacquer varnish of choice. Do not pour the varnish directly on the surface. We advise applying the varnish by spray gun. Leave the furniture to dry overnight (minimum 12 hours) and avoid placing anything on the surface before it is completely dry (minimum 48 hours).

METAL

Metal is durable but must be protected from scratches and rust. For daily cleaning, use a clean, soft cloth to wipe the surface. To remove stains, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid scouring creams, sponges, or metal pads, as they can scratch the surface. Do not use solvents, acidic or alkaline cleaners, glass cleaner, or household ammonia, as these may damage the coating. Never use acetic or citric acid. When moving products, avoid letting metal components make contact with walls or other furniture, as this may result in scuffing or scratching.

ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS

Furniture containing electrical components such as table sockets or lamps need extra care to maintain the safety. After moving products with electrical components make sure cables don’t expose any damage. Always unplug the products before cleaning. Avoid using water. Do not use wet or damp cloths for cleaning the electrical components, instead, please use a dry cloth or duster to remove any dirt. In case any damage appears, contact a certified electrician.
