PARTNERSHIP WITH PURPOSE:

Bridging Worlds with Rwandan Craftsmanship

INZU was born from a profound passion for celebrating the extraordinary beauty and craftsmanship of Rwandan artistry. This vision took root during the creation of the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund in Rwanda—a collaboration between INZU’s founders and MASS Design Group.

MASS Design Group, a nonprofit architecture and design collective, is dedicated to creating spaces that uplift communities, promote justice, and honor human dignity. Their work in architecture, master planning, and policy advocacy extends far beyond design; it embodies a commitment to equity. By engaging Rwandan artisans to craft the furniture and décor featured in the Ellen Campus, MASS illuminated the transformative truth that design itself advances communities & preserves artisantechniques. This commitment became the foundation for INZU’s inception.

Our shared vision aims to share these artisan’s heritage and commitment to this craft with the world while also empowering makers through opportunities in global markets. Every piece curated by INZU reflects centuries of tradition, mastery, and resilience.A meaningful percentage of each item sold isguided back to the artisans cooperatives by way of small business microloans to propel their craft & livelihood. Through these handcrafted goods, we seek to illuminate Rwanda’s inspiring spirit and forge meaningful connections between makers and customers.
